Hear what our friends have to say about fishing with us.

I had a great time by the way.  Rojo was great.  Just wish I could have done better on the Tarpon.  But my Permit was really worth it.

My son and I recently fished with Tres Pescados Fly Shop in hopes of catching a permit on a fly. We’ve never had so many shots at permit in different conditions and never had more enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides. They were genuinely as excited about our quest as we were and plan on heading back to fish with our friends again soon.

My first Super Grand! Thank you Wil at belizefly.com, Darrel my valued and most trusted guide, David, and of course Tina (for supporting my habit!) for what will surely be one of the most memorable fly fishing days of my life.   Nothing can beat Ambergris for the overall opportunities to catch the Slam but more importantly for doing it with such great folks.  We may not have broken any records with the size of the fish today but they were the most beautiful to me this trip !

Bonefish 1.jpg

After some really easy internet arrangements with Wil from Tres Pescados, I met my guide, Eloy at 7:00 AM sharp.  We headed out to the flats of Ambergis Caye with clear skies and a little wind.  As soon as we stopped the boat, Eloy pointed to a dark spot and said "We have permit today!"  I looked and didn't see anything, but I obediently made a long cast.  I caught a strong fighting bonefish as the permit moved on.  Eventually, I started seeing the fish, and we landed many bonefish that took my line out to the backing.  All day long, we slowly followed schools of permit; I learned just how elusive they are.  I broke my line twice on the permit, but never landed one.  The hard charging bonefish and the brilliant skies made up for it.  I'll return to fish with Tres Pescados in the near future with the hope of another permit chase!

Thanks & Best Regards,

Hello, Wil

Now that we have that out of the way...

I have several close friends who are professional steelhead/salmon
guides in British Columbia and over the years have employed guides in
Mexico and Belize in my quest for permit

Your operation sets a very high standard in comparison to all of these
and is head and shoulders the best tropical saltwater fly fishing
outfitter I know of through experience.  You make it easy and effortless
to arrange and book trips, your administration and follow up is prompt
and first rate, and boats are well equipped and superior

As for the guide, I have to say that Albert is the most skilled,
proficient and "fishy" flats guide I know of.  He is patient, knows
where fish live and how to find them and is a great teacher for those of
us with a thirst to learn more about tropical game fish and what they
are about.

I can't recommend Albert and Tres Pescados any higher, and thank you for
a truly memorable experience.  Have anyone contact me for a reference,
any time

Albert is a legend.  He's a terrific guide in terms of technicals…patience, teaching, pushing when needed, and keeping the chatter going…but what really made the day exceptional was his unbridled enthusiasm.  His passion and excitement for fishing, for my success and learning, and for the waters we drifted together was infectious and inspiring…which makes everyone a better angler.

I love being waist deep in late fall shooting for rainbows and browns in my streams back home, this experience in salt water (my first) was epic…akin to boating my first Musky.

Thanks for running such a tight operation, thanks to Lacey for getting me on the calendar, and best of luck for the rest of this season.  When I'm back…I'll be calling…with one cooler full of Beli's and another full of Jeff specials.
